Fighting the status quo

Most people are raised their whole life with the following mind set

1. Go to school
2. Do good in School
3. Go to University/College
4. Get a safe and secure job
5. Go into debt
6. Work to pay your debt off
7. One day retire to enjoy life

In my honest opinion this is a completely wrong mindset and makes me think what is the point of working so hard to only be able to enjoy life in your old age.
